Direct X problem with Monkey Island 3

[size=12]I am trying to play Monkey Island 3 and after i install i get a message saying i need to install direct x 5. I have direct x 9 on my computer and also windows XP. I have a feeling that it might have something to do with this instruction that i dont know how to do "Copy the cracked .EXE file from the 'Crack' folder on Disc 1 over the original" If anyone can help out it would be greatly appreciated[/size]

hi kingartur

you dont need to put the crack onto cd ..all you need to do is copy and paste the crack.exe to the destination folder (where you saved the game on your pc )
as for the direct x as long as you have direct x that will be fine...

after you extract the game links you should have a crack folder copy and paste into game destination...

ok i found the crack.exe but it still asks to install direct x 5 when i start the game and click play monkey Island

i think your direct x is currupt reinstall and try again..
